Is brow lamination damaging to your brows?
Brow lamination is a popular beauty treatment that is designed to give brows a fuller & more defined look. The process involves using solutions that break down the bonds in the hairs in order to restyle the brows. When the first solution within a brow lamination step is over-used, the hairs can become over-processed leaving them dry and brittle.
The risk of damage is significantly reduced if the treatment is done by a trained experienced professional. We advise only trained professionals purchase our products, this way application is carried out correctly to minimise harm.
Likelihood of damage is relatively small when carried out by a brow professional, we supply guides that indicate how long our solutions have to be left on dependant on hair type. For thinner hair types, it is important that the solution is left on for a minimal amount of time to avoid over-processing.
After your brow lamination treatment is complete, we recommend applying Step 3, our nourishing step to ensure the brows get some re-hydration after being chemically treated.
A patch test is always required before this treatment to ensure you do not have a adverse reaction to the chemicals, which would cause redness, swelling & irritations. We advise carrying this out by applying the solutions on the forearm, this is to be left on for 24 hours.
